I didn't clean my room today. Which will probably come back to bite me in the butt later... (there's boxes of stuff I haven't unpacked yet, shirts I haven't tried on yet, dishes I keep meaning to take downstairs) I guess I could just say I'm an unorganized girl with too many articles of clothing...
But some of my room is cute. I love going on Pinterest and looking at fashion and design. I've incorporated some of that into my messy room. I repinned a picture of a room that used old designer shopping bags as decorations (Victoria's Secret, Abercrombie, Tiffany's) So being the creative cat I am, I changes up the idea And came up with this:
The canvases are really just the tops of boxes from Guess, Victoria's Secret, And Tiffany's. I bought the mannequin from Ross and wore that dress to winter formal.
*I found the Guess box in a cardboard dumpster in front of Sears. We were moving and we needed boxes. It's not stealing I swear! There was also a bunch of Air Jordan boxes. Anyways, I take pride in the pretty parts of my room. However this picture just shows the walls of my room and not the never-ending dump pile on my floor. If you look at the next picture, you'll find the real mess I'm talking about. And it's not even all of it. Just a quarter.
That large monkey is Howard the three foot long sock monkey. You can also spot the box of tissues permanently placed next to my bed due too thee sinus infection I have. Next to the tissues is a little book about holocaust survivors (hey, I'm a history buff). Can you spot the blue and purple beret hat? Or half my pink backrest?
A couple hours ago my mom asked if I wanted to invite any friends over And I thought "no" because my room is a mess. Then I remembered: my friends usually have messy rooms too! But when comparing your rooms messiness to another rooms messiness, you always think your room is messier. Whoa. I just used present, past, and comparative versions of the word messy... But I hope you understand what I'm laying down. Do you smell what I'm stepping in? Hopefully.
Life is all about appreciating what you have, and I have a messy room. I came up with a messy room pledge.
"I have a messy room. And that's okay. My messy room gives me personality, motivates me to be cleaner, and makes me not want guys in the house."
Good huh? Maybe we can form a group of messy roomers and have meetings when we should be cleaning....
